In a recent interview, actor Michael Shannon opened up about his path to being cast as General Zod in "Man of Steel." Although the project was one of the most successful "Superman" movies in recent history, the movie wasn't without controversey. In an interview with the SAG-AFTRA foundation, Shannon shared that he didn't actually audition to be General Zod, but that director Zack Snyder asked him personally.
