VIDEO : Female Lead Cast In Peter Jackson's 'Mortal Engines'

New Zealand filmmaker Peter Jackson has cast his first female lead for his adaptation of the scifi/fantasy book series, Mortal Engines. According to Variety magazine, Hera Hilmar will play the lead role of Hester Shaw in the opening film of the franchise. Her character is "a mysterious young woman from Earth, thousands of years in our future." Earlier this month, Robbie Sheehan and Ronan Raferty were cast for the film's two main male leads. Mortal Engines has four award-winning books in the series so far, all of which have been optioned by the filmmakers involved in the project.
