John Wick has always been a reunion for Matrix alumni. Director Chad Stahelski, producer David Leitch, and star Keanu Reeves all work on the Wachowski triology and were even working on the John Wick concept while on the set of the Matrix. With the addition of Laurence Fishburne in John Wick 2, the Matrix connections are taken to another level. In the film, Fishburne plays a "prominent figure in the international society of mobsters and assassins.
