VIDEO : Jennifer Lopez Likes Her Body Even More Now Than She Did In Her 20s

In her March W Magazine cover story, Jennifer Lopez opens up about her journey towards loving herself, and it took longer than you might think. When she was just starting out as a dancer on the '90s sketch show In Living Color, Lopez?who looked much like she looks today, except with shorter, curlier hair?was combatting insecurity. "I never appreciated my body or my looks when I was in my 20s," she tells W. "Now I?m like, Look at me! Look at you! Not in a conceited or arrogant way?I just appreciate myself in a way I didn?t when I was that age. And it?s not about perfection. I like the scars that I have."

A stronger sense of self is one more reason to look forward to aging, as J. Lo describes. Another pearl of wisdom she dropped is that she's noticed the reverse happens with men, which is perhaps a reason she's been linked to younger men in recent years. (Ahem, Drake.) "Men in their 20s are very confident and cocky, and women are superinsecure," she says. "And then it flips: Men get superinsecure, and women get comfortable in their own skin, in a way that makes them more beautiful."
