According to Hollywood sources, Leonardo DiCaprio will star in and produce an upcoming movie adaptation of Stephan Talty's book, The Black Hand. The book, which will hit shelves in April this year, is set during a crime wave in New York City in the summer of 1903. The plot itself focuses on detective Joseph Petrosino - dubbed the ?Italian Sherlock Holmes,? - and his mission of bringing down perpetrators who leave a calling card at the scene of crimes in the symbol of a black hand. Paramount has acquired the rights to the movie while DiCaprio will produce it through his Appian Way banner.
