Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert is returning to "The Vampire Diaries" for the series finale. The actress posted a photo of the script for Season 8, Episode 16 ? the series finale ? on her Instagram on Thursday, confirming her return to "TVD." Executive Producer Julie Plec, who is directing the episode, said in a statement, "I'm thrilled to bring this show to an end the way we always intended - with Nina back to help us say goodbye.
