In an interview with Empire Magazine, director M. Night Shyamalan discussed the possibility of a Split sequel, or what would essentially be Unbreakable 3. Shyamalan said, "I?m writing the outline now. It?s weird. It?s long. It?s the longest outline I?ve ever had. It has so many characters." In a post-credits scene for 'Split', actor Bruce Willis appears in a diner as his 'Unbreakable' character David Dunn, making it clear that the films share the same universe.
