The thriller, opened in theaters nationwide and new details reveal the character played by James McAvoy is actually a super villain origin story. Shyamlana shared the the character played by MaAvoy was originally created for the Universe surrounding his 2000 film Unbreakable. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Shyamalan said, "this character, Kevin from Split, was in the original script of Unbreakable.
