It?s no surprise that Miranda Kerr looks good in everything, especially jeans. From high-waisted skinnies to fitted straight-legs, the supermodel can make just about any pair a runway-worthy piece, thanks to her enviable frame and impeccable sense of style. Now, Kerr is translating her true blue obsession into a collaboration with Los Angeles-based denim brand Mother.
The 12-piece limited edition capsule includes foolproof pieces with hints of ?60s and ?70s vibe. Think: flared mini skirt, figure-hugging jumpsuit, cropped white tees, and a pair of everyday skinny jeans fittingly called ?Easy Does It.? The best part? A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, an Australia-based organization that provide support for premature babies and their families. ?The whole process was a lot of fun, but I think the best part was creating something meaningful that gives back to others in need,? Kerr tells Allure. ?I was a premature baby myself, so the cause is very close to my heart.?
Kerr, a long time Mother fan, seized the opportunity to design her first-ever denim collection when the brand?s co-founders, Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding, approached her last May. And though she is no stranger to collaborations?having racked up serious design cred with her line of everyday jewelry for Swarovski and even a porcelain teaware set for Royal Albert?the model admits this design process was different from her past creative endeavors. ?You need to take into account the comfort, and how the design and the cut can best flatter the different body shapes of women,? says Kerr, who looked to her own closet for sparks of inspiration. ?I worked on every detail?the washes, the pink suede patch, logo, and hardware.?
When it comes to putting together the perfect look, Kerr knows comfort is key. She always reaches for a pair of high-waisted jeans because ?they nip you in at the smallest part of your waist and elongate the legs.? She finishes off her look with wardrobe staples like an oversized tee or a tailored blazer. As for the shoes, the model can't resist a pair of cool kicks or dainty ballet flats à la Jane Birkin and Audrey Hepburn?two icons with effortless style, just like Kerr.
