Actresses Idina Menzel and Nia Long star in the Lifetime network remake of the iconic film, "Beaches". Menzel and Long will star in the roles originated by Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey. In a recent interview, Menzel explained why she was hesitant to join this project. She said: "Well, if you've noticed, I've never?I don't usually do revivals. There's a reason. Because I'm terrified...I like to originate so I don't have to walk in someone else's footsteps, which is why this is actually a departure for me." Menzel added that she is thrilled to be apart of this remake, and introduce a younger generation to the story of "Beaches."
