Since Mariah Carey's now-infamous New Years Eve performance, her ex-husband, Tommy Mottola, spoke out in defense of the pop singer. Her former husband and manager wrote a letter to Page Six and sung high praises of her talent. He said: "She is a global icon and a treasure with incredible talent not only as a singer but as a great songwriter." Mottola added that the technical difficulties could have happened to any performer, but, her team should be more on top it. He added that she should " hire more seasoned and respected professionals to surround her and help her with her career!" Mottola continued on to criticize her new reality TV show, and the kind of image that displays of Carey's brand.
