Ellen DeGeneres opened with Pharrell Williams about her decision to cancel gospel singer Kim Burrell's appearance on her show. Following Pharrell's performance on the show on Thursday, the two discussed Burrell's recent homophobic sermon "in which she suggested gay people will die in 2017 for their "sins."" Burrell was supposed to join Pharrell for the performance, to promote a song from the film Hidden Figures.
