Mark Hamill, one of the stars of Star Wars, was shocked and saddened when Carrie Fisher died. The two had been friends for 40 years.
Hamill initially posted condolences on his facebook page. Those words, however, were not enough to express his thoughts on his late friend.
So Hamill wrote a moving essay for the Hollywood Reporter, using the extra space the website provided to to post about the first time the two met in 1976.
In part, Hamill said of his Star Wars co-star "she was just so instantly ingratiating and funny and outspoken."
"She had a way of just being so brutally candid. I?d just met her but it was like talking to a person you?d known for ten years.
