Paul Simon took to Twitter on Wednesday after hearing of Carrie Fisher's death to pay tribute to his ex-wife, penning, "Carrie was a special, wonderful girl. It's too soon." Fisher and Simon, who were married in 1984, had an on-again, off-again relationship for over a decade, only to divorce that very same year. Author Peter Ames Carlin wrote in the Simon's biography that the two did fight "a lot" and Fisher's recreational drug use at the time became a problem in their relationship.
