Courtesy Riccardo Ghilardi via Wikimedia Commons Carrie Fisher, best known for playing Princess and then General Leia Organa in the Star Wars series, died Tuesday following what was reported as a massive heart attack last week. ?It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,? a statement released by the family said. Things appeared to be looking up after Fisher?s mother, Debbie Reynolds, posted on Facebook Christmas Day that her daughter was in stable condition.
