Sony Music Entertainment's Twitter account was hacked, and the intruder published false statements indicting pop singer Britney Spears had died.
In a short statement, Sony Music let the social media world know that the news was false.
The company also apologized to Spears and her fans for any confusion.
Sony has already regained control over their concours-twitter.htm">twitter account, but has refused to comment any further on the cyber intrusion.
Spears' manager Adam Leber told CNN that the 35-year-old superstar and Grammy Award winner is doing fine.
