British singer George Michael, who rose to fame during the 1980s as part of the pop duo Wham! before launching a Grammy-winning solo career, died Sunday. He was 53. His publicist said in a statement to BuzzFeed News, ?It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother, and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period."
