Set in the 1950s, 'Fences' follows a garbage man who wanted a baseball career, but was too old for the major leagues when they began admitting black players.
Now a husband and father, Troy Maxson's dashed dreams eat away at him and lead to a decision that threatens to tear his family apart.
Denzel Washington plays Maxson. He told ET, "It's a family story. There's something in it for all of us."
In 2010, Washington performed the play for 13 weeks on Broadway, winning Tony Awards for Best Revival as well as Best Performance.
