Oscar-nominee James Franco has now in essence confirmed that he will appear in Ridley Scott's upcoming 'Alien: Covenant' However, the actor skirted around revealing what his role in the film actually is. Insiders say he will play a character named Branson, the captain of the spaceship Covenant and husband to the movie's protagonist Daniels, who will be portrayed by actress Katherine Waterston. Sources add that Franco's role will be small, but essential, with most of his scenes taking place during the the film's first 10 minutes ? suggesting the character may meet an early end.
