The Largest LGBT civil rights group in the United States, the Human Rights Campaign, is honoring actress Meryl Streep. The organization will give Streep the special recognition at its annual East Coast banquet. Streep, the 19-time Oscar nominee, has never been honored for her work with the LGBT community. Streep has a history of celebrating the gay culture, both on screen and off. In 2004 she professed her support for same sex marriage while accepting her Golden Globe for Angels In America.
