Dick Van Dyke confirmed that he will appear in Walt Disney Pictures' Mary Poppins Returns, an upcoming sequel to the 1964 classic. Dick Van Dyke, now 91 years old, says "This one supposedly takes place 20 years later and the kids are all grown up. It's a great cast ? Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury and that guy [Lin-Manuel Miranda] from Hamilton." Because the film takes place 20 years later, Van Dyke will not be reprising his role of Bert, a cockney jack-of-all-trades. Mary Poppins Returns will be released on December 25, 2018.
