At the premiere for his new film ?Fences,? Denzel Washington opened up about how when he was an MFA student 39 years ago he served soup at a cafeteria called Salmagundi?s in San Francisco. He stated, ?I was the soup guy! I never got to go into the theater: I couldn?t afford the show. I said one day, I?m gonna be in that theater. It took me 39 years, but I?m here.? This week Washington also found out he has a SAG Awards nomination and a Golden Gate nomination.
