Allison Janney is set to join actor and producer Margot Robbie in the film 'I, Tonya,' about the 1994 scandal involving Tonya Harding at the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
Janney will play Harding's mother, LaVona.
The film centers around the scandal in which Harding's husband Jeff Gillooly, to be portrayed by Sebastian Stan in the film, hires a hitman to break the leg of Harding's main competitor, Nancy Kerrigan.
Janney has been most recently seen in The Girl On the Train and in the CBS sitcom 'Mom'.
