Variety has just announced that the actor has landed the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham in the upcoming film, Robin Hood: Origins. Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie The Eagle) stars as the title character, with Jamie Foxx (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Django Unchained) signed on to play his loyal partner, Little John. This marks Mendelsohn's third major role as a villain, fresh off of his take as the main antagonist in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
