Barbie has been one of the most iconic toys in the world since it first launched in 1959. The doll has been the inspiration for movies, games, clothing, and many different types of branded merchandise. In 2009, Universal decided to adapt the property into a live-action film. Now, Sony has chosen Amy Schumer to portray the iconic role in the film, possibly with the hope that she will revise the script to align with her own comedic style and voice. "Barbie" will hit theaters in June 2018.
