VIDEO : Alan Tudyk Talks Jar Jar Legacy

Celebrity in this news:

Actor Alan Tudyk says he didn't find his approach to the character of K-2SO in 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' easily. And the memory of Star Wars Travesties Past haunted his mind during production on the film.
?[Jar Jar] was such an outlier," laments Tudyk in an interview with The Huffington Post. He is, of course, referencing Jar Jar Binks; the comic relief character from 2001's The Phantom Menace that was universally despised. Rumors still circulate that Star Wars creator, George Lucas, actually had a much larger role intended for Jar Jar, but backed off the character in the final two films of his trilogy.
Tudyk tells the post, "I did have it in mind because K-2SO can be very funny in moments, and I talked to Gareth Edwards, saying, I hope I?m not coming across as a character that makes jokes... He told me that I wasn?t, so I trusted him, and I?m really happy with the outcome."
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in theaters December 16th.
