The Oscars have selected late night host, Jimmy Kimmel, to emcee the 89th Academy Awards. Kimmel will lead this ceremony for the first time ever, but has plenty of experience after being a regular awards host, presiding over the Emmy Awards twice and once leading ESPN's ESPY Awards. The academy waited much later than usual to name a host for the ceremony on February 26, perhaps due to some pressure on ABCs broadcast to try and bring some more viewers in than last year.
