Jimmy Kimmel has been slated to emcee the 89th Academy Awards, hosting the show for the first time, the Academy of Motion Pictures reported Monday. The selection of the late night host gives ABC, home of the Oscars telecast, the choice the network had initially sought, though the academy waited much later than usual to name a host for it's awards ceremony. This year's show will produced by Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd, and is set to air February 26th.
