It's been announced that Jimmy Kimmel will officially host the 2017 Oscars.
The announcement came on Monday from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Kimmel will follows Chris Rock's stint in 2015. Kimmel hosts his own late-night program on the network. He recently hosted the 2016 Emmy Awards. He's also hosted the ESPY Awards in 2007 and the American Music Awards five different years.
The 2017 Oscars nominations will be made Jan. 24, 2017.
