Although he will not be there in person, Bob Dylan wrote a speech for the Nobel Prize banquet. The singer-songwriter won this year's Nobel Prize in literate, but made headlines when he declined to attend this year's banquet due to "other commitments." However, the Nobel Foundation announced that he penned a "speech of thanks" and that it remains undecided who will read the note at the banquet in Stockholm, Sweden. Singer-songwriter Patti Smith is set to perform Dylan's "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" at the banquet. According tot he Nobel Foundation, Dylan will receive his diploma and medal at a later, undetermined date.
