On Thursday the first teaser trailer and poster for Tom Cruise's reboot of "The Mummy" were released by Universal Pictures. Directed by Alex Kurtzman and written by Christopher McQuarrie and Jon Spaihts, the 2017 relaunch of the franchise also stars Russell Crowe and Sofia Boutella as the ancient resurrected Mummy, Ahmanet, the character whose eye-splitting pupils dominate the quick teaser - alongside leading man Cruise. And Universal also unveiled a poster - which features a sarcophagus bound to the floor of a cargo plane - and a new tagline: "Welcome to a New World of Gods and Monsters." The Mummy hits theaters June 9th, 2017.
