British actor Andrew Garfield starred in the popular 2012 "Spiderman" reboot, "The Amazing Spider-Man," in the titular role. He also starred in the less popular sequel, "The Amazing Spider Man 2," which opened to mixed reviews and became the lowest grossing feature-length installment of the Spiderman franchise. After Sony dissolved the series, the studio then recast Tom Holland as Peter Parker for "Captain America: Civil War" and the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming.
