The 2016 Soul Train Awards was aired on the BET and Centric networks on Sunday November 27. Popular 90s R&B artists Brandy and Dru Hill performed at the awards. The awards ceremony opened with a reunion performance by 90s R&B group, Dru Hill, and performed their hits "In My Bed" and "Beauty". Brandy received the "Lady of Soul" award and performed her hits "The Boy Is Mine" and "I Wanna Be Down".
