Adam Driver's performance as the villain Kylo Ren in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens divided fans of the film. Some absolutely loved the tragically flawed Darth Vader wanna-be, and some very much didn't.
But Adam Driver wasn't the only man in the running to fill the mask. Actor Eddie Redmayne recalled his audition for the part in an interview promoting his new film, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
"With films that top secret, they don?t give you the actual lines," says Redmayne, "So they give you a scene from Pride and Prejudice, but then they tell you you?re auditioning for the baddie. If you?re me, you then put some ridiculous voice on."
Redmayne says he did his best Darth Vader, but it didn't exactly go over too well in the audition room.
