Star Wars: The force awakens marked the first time the series had a female character in a lead role. Following the success of that film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story features Oscar nominee Jones/'> Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, a reluctant hero recruited by the Rebel Alliance to help steal the plans to the original Death Star. Marketing materials for the film have clearly shown that Jyn will be front and center, and her relationship with her father Galen is at the core of the film.
