VIDEO : Peter Jackson's New Movie Acquired by Universal

According to TheWrap, Peter Jackson?s new movie project ?Mortal Engines," an adaptation of Phillip Reeve?s sci-fi fantasy book series, has landed at Universal and MRC. Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens will co-write the film while Christian Rivers, Jackson?s visual effects protege on ?The Hobbit,? will make his directorial debut. ?Mortal Engines? will be the first project for Jackson and Walsh at Universal since 2005?s ?King Kong.? More movies are already said to be in development for the 'Mortal Engines' series, which is comprised of three other books: ?Predator?s Gold,? ?Infernal Devices? and ?A Darkling Plain.?
