Famed musician Phil Collins recently sat down with Jim Axelrod for a candid interview on success and addiction.
Known as the drummer, and for a time, the lead singer of Genesis, Collins went to a star-studded solo career in music after the English prog-rock band took an extended hiatus in the late 70s.
In a profile piece slated for Sunday Morning, Collins spoke with Axelrod about the substance that fueled his successful years in music, but led to an alcohol dependency which nearly killed him.
As Axelrod said, the workaholic became an alcoholic.
