Rapper Jay Z and Madonna are among the nominees for the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame. Jay Z, one of contemporary music's most celebrated lyricists and entertainers, if inducted, would become the first rapper to enter the prestigious music organization. Other performing nominees include George Michael, Madonna, Gloria Estefan and Chicago. Non-performing nominees include Babyface, Max Martin, Kenny Nolan, and songwriting duos Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
