Jim Carrey is asking the court to pause a lawsuit against him that was filed by his late girlfriend's mother. He has filed a declaration telling his side of the story, along with pictures, texts and copies of Cathriona White's suicide notes. Both White's mother, Brigid Sweetman, and husband, Mark Burton, blame Carrey for their daughter?s death and have filed lawsuits against him. Sweetman's suit calls the actor evil and says he gave White sexually transmitted diseases. Carrey's attorneys say the lawsuits are nothing more than a "shakedown" the two invented.
