After a Monday night screening this week at the Landmark Theater in Los Angeles, Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, whose drama ?Julieta? is competing in this year?s Oscar race for Best Foreign Language Film issued an apology to actress Meryl Streep. Almodóvar initially courted the three-time Oscar winner to play the lead in what would have been his first English-language movie. However, he admitted in a Q&A Monday that he didn?t tell Streep after talking to her that he decided to make the film in Spanish. Despite not appearing in the movie, it?s probably safe to say that the legendary actress is not too sore about the situation.
