The University of Maine is honoring Stephen King by creating the Stephen E. King Chair in Literature. King, one of the most successful authors in America, graduated from the University in 1970. His first novel, the smash-hit 'Carrie,' was published four years later. The appointment is a five-year, renewable term. The University is already accepting applications from English professors.
