A mourning mass was held in Warsaw on Tuesday to bid farewell to renowned filmmaker Andrzej Wajda. Hundreds of people came to honor the filmmaker who received "an honorary lifetime achievement Oscar in 2000." When he was awarded the Oscar the Academy called him "a man whose films have given audiences around the world an artist's view of history, democracy and freedom." Wajda passed away in a hospital on October 9 at the age of 90.
