President Barack Obama has congratulated Bob Dylan on his Nobel Prize in literature. President Obama tweeted from his official account, writing, "Congratulations to one of my favorite poets, Bob Dylan, on a well-deserved Nobel." In 2012, Dylan was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama. At the ceremony, President Obama said, "There is not a bigger giant in the history of American music." He also said that Dylan "redefined" music through "the message it carried and how it made people feel."
