And the winner is..... That's right! Thursday Bob Dylan made Nobel Prize history as it is the first time the prestigious award has been given to an individual primarily viewed as a musician. The Swedish Academy celebrated the American musician for "having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition." Dylan who celebrated his 75th birthday in March 2016, had been mentioned in the Nobel speculation for years, but critics never expected the academy to extend the prestigious award to a genre such as pop music. Dylan will officially receive the award on Dec. 10, 2016.
