Director James Gunn's latest Instagram post sheds some light on the reasoning behind the Howard the Duck cameo in 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' He states, while holding a figurine of the character, "As a kid my favorite comic book character wasn't Batman or the Hulk - it was actually Howard the Duck. Steve Gerber's strange blend of funny animal comics, adult humor, and science fiction was heaven to me - so much so that I had a big Howard poster on my wall for years.
