"Blue Jay," starring Sarah Paulson and Mark Dupass, is a story about the one who got away. The low-budget indie film was also written by Duplass and was shot with black-and-white photography using a two-hander set-up. Aside from Paulson and Duplass the only other character in the film with dialogue is a liquor store clerk. The two characters find themselves returning for different reasons to their hometown where they were once high school sweethearts. The two bump into each other at a grocery store and wind up grabbing a six-pack and reminiscing by a lake. "As they get closer, old secrets and regrets come roaring to the forefront" and a "Big Secret" is revealed in the final third of the film.
