Titan Comics has announced that they will be releasing the comic book that inspired an upcoming Michelle Rodriguez/Sigourney Weaver crime thriller early next year. The comic, Walter Hill's "(Re)Assignment," was previously only available in France, but will be released in the US under the company's Hard Case Crime imprint next January. Created by film director Hill with co-writer Alexis Nolent, aka Matz, the book features striking art by the artist known as Jef, and was the basis for the upcoming feature film adaptation that debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last month. The controversial gender bending plot revolves around Frank Kitchen, who is turned from a hitman into a hitwoman by a vengeful surgeon. The Hollywood Reporter called the film "a deliciously transgressive and smart classic B movie," though many in the LGBT community have railed against the film's themes and lowbrow treatment of gender reassignment surgery.
