VIDEO : Natalie Portman Plays First Lady In 'Jackie' Trailer

It was inevitable that one day, someone would make a biopic about Jacqueline Kennedy ? it was only a matter of when, and who would play her. As the first trailer for Jackie demonstrates, that honor falls to Natalie Portman, who may very well win her second Oscar for her portrayal of the First Lady dealing with the immediate aftermath of her husband John F. Kennedy's assassination.
Light on dialogue, the trailer for this historical drama directed by Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larrain (No) uses a cut from the original cast recording of Camelot as it follows the future Jackie O. showing a TV crew around the White House, putting on a brave face at the President's funeral and slowly piecing her life back together. The trailer does allow Portman one line, however, hinting at the film's take on Kennedy's America as a shimmery mirage: "People like to believe in fairy tales. Don't let it be forgot that for one brief, shining moment, there was Camelot."
Jackie opens in limited theaters on December 2nd.
