Fast & Furious director Justin Lin has been tapped by Legendary Pictures to direct the movie adaptation of Hot Wheels toys. Lin most recently directed the third installment of the Star Trek reboot, Star Trek Beyond. Hot Wheels has been stalled in development for years. This isn't the first time Lin has been brought into a project to work out the kinks. The Hollywood Reporter "indicates that Lin will have an active hand in developing in producing the movie as well as directing; a new script and fresh ideas will be used, with a writer currently being sought."
