In honor of author Stephen King's birthday, Sony released some information for his fans on the Dark Tower TV series. A big screen version of the sci-fi saga is already scheduled to hit theaters in February 2017, and now there are details about a companion TV series, which will start filming in 2017 and plans for a 2018 debut. It has been reported that Idris Elba will reprise his role as Roland for the TV series. Matthew McConaughey may appear in the series as well, but he hasn't officially signed on yet.
